A ballroom, sold as a desert
The address reads 67967 Vista Chino, and that postcode lands in Cathedral City. Its own site, the brand page and three directories all print that address, and the consequences run through everything. Cathedral City's noise chapter applies, its 12 percent transient occupancy tax lands on every room night in the block, and the state rate table puts city sales tax at 9.250 percent, a point and a half over the two Indian Wells properties down the road. On a $60,000 taxable food and beverage spend that gap alone is roughly $900. The venue does not publish the rate it charges.
The Mesquite Ballroom is the real room: 7,400 square feet at 100 by 74 feet under an 18-foot ceiling, 580 banquet, 700 theatre, 1,200 standing. The venue's own FAQ then says the same room takes 500 seated and 800 theatre-style, which is two first-party pages disagreeing on one room. Below that the chart stops making sense. Every Mesquite and Oleander sub-room lists a theatre figure beneath its banquet figure, which is physically backwards, and the Oleander Ballroom is given as 93 banquet across 4,554 square feet where a directory gives 340. That is a gap of nearly four times on the same room. Both are printed here because correcting either would mean inventing a number, and a couple sizing a 200-seat dinner cannot resolve it without a signed floor plan.
Nothing about sound is published by this hotel. No decibel cap, no music end time, no policy in the FAQ. Cathedral City's noise chapter, 11.96, fills the gap and it is blunt. Commercial exterior limits fall from 85 dB(A) to 55 dB(A) at 10pm, residential exterior from 65 to 50, a collapse no amplified reception survives. The chapter's special-event exemption reaches only city-operated or city-sponsored events and events on public property, so a private wedding at a private resort buys nothing from it. Separately the code makes repeated loud noise after 10pm a premises nuisance aimed at the operator, which gives the hotel its own reason to pull the plug. Assume outdoor music ends at ten and get the actual policy written down.
Right for an indoor wedding of 150 to 500 that wants the guest rooms and the event under one contract, four miles from the airport, at the lowest airport transfer of anything in this directory. Wrong for anyone whose picture of the day is outdoors at any scale, and wrong for anyone who needs the venue's own capacity chart to be internally consistent, because it is not.
