Gordon Kaufmann, who later handled the exterior treatment of the Hoover Dam, drew the original twenty casitas, each named for a saint. They opened at the end of December 1926 for a January season. Frank Capra worked on screenplays in casita San Anselmo, and a 5,952-square-foot ballroom now carries his name. Forty-five acres, 718 keys.
Lawrence M. Hughes laid out the course in 1959 and Eisenhower dedicated it in 1960, with Crosby and Hope in the inaugural round. Venue-supplied directory figures give site rental at $5,000 to $7,500 and food from $65 a head.

Merv Griffin kept fifty horses in the stables from the mid-1980s until his death in 2007, and the orchard still carries oranges, grapefruit, guava and figs. Forty acres, on the market at $36 million since April 2024. Booking continuity past a sale is not guaranteed.
Polo ended here in 2021 when Goldenvoice took a 28-year lease, so nobody marries beside a live match. The Forum spans 48,000 square feet. April is unavailable, and the road closures run six weeks.

Its Memorial Date Garden seats 300 under date palms. The Promenade lawn stands beneath a Whittier Ranch water tower the museum's own rental page dates to 1921, and projects art onto it after dark. The campus is built around a 1926 adobe house.
Directory figures put rental at $8,900 an event and lodging at $2,950 a night on a two-night minimum. The venue lists the city event permit as a separate cost. Capacity 400, entirely outdoors, with no indoor space at all.

In 2026 Avenue 50 between Monroe Street and Madison Avenue closed continuously from 23 March to 4 May, six weeks bracketing all three festival weekends with build and strike either side. On each festival Friday through the following Monday, four more closures went in. Avenue 49 shut between Hjorth and Monroe, Avenue 50 between Madison and Jackson, Hjorth between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50, and Madison between Avenue 49 and Avenue 52. Of the venues listed here, Trilogy at The Polo Club sits inside that box at 51750 Polo Club Drive, off Madison between Avenue 50 and Avenue 52. Old Polo Estate in Coachella and Cavallo Ranch on Avenue 54 in Thermal sit in the corridor the detours funnel through. The Ranch at 38 on Avenue 38 and the History Museum on Miles Avenue fall outside it. Roughly 40,000 festival guests are shuttled in.
Searches for a Coachella Valley vineyard wedding return nothing in La Quinta, Indio, Coachella or Thermal, and the reason is agricultural. The east valley grows dates, citrus, table grapes and row crops. Riverside County's wine country is Temecula, ninety minutes west and over a mountain range. Date cultivation in this part of the valley traces to USDA plant exploration, with Algerian shoots planted from September 1903 after imports from Iraq and Egypt in 1890 failed.
Shields Date Garden in Indio and a second date garden in Thermal come up constantly for date farm wedding searches. Both are genuine date operations with retail, cafe and visitor businesses, and neither runs a wedding venue on any first-party channel. The working equivalent in this beat is The Packhouse at Aziz Farms in Thermal, a ten-acre date farm at 82805 Avenue 60 whose packing shed was fitted out for events in 2019. The Coachella Valley History Museum's Memorial Date Garden is the second option, seating 300 under the palms.
Cache Estate, Stallion Estate, Bougainvillea Estate, Velour Estate, The Desert White House, The Respite, The Bravo Collection Club and Desert Ridge Estate dominate marketplace results for Indio, at capacities up to 600 and starting prices reaching $37,000. They present as short-stay rental mansions. Indio Municipal Code chapter 37, section 37.015 prohibits commercial activities and special events, weddings, receptions, large parties and sales events expressly included, on a property used as a short-term rental unless a special event permit is obtained. None of the eight appears here, because no permit status was produced for any of them.
La Quinta Country Club describes itself on its own site as a private members' club, while its directory listing markets weddings to non-members at a site rental of $5,000 to $7,500, with food priced from $65 per person and a 22 percent service charge. Whether a member sponsor is required was not confirmed, and it is the first thing to ask. Availability runs October through May, events run 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. with fees after hours, and the ceremony site is a mature olive tree facing the Santa Rosa Mountains.
