A clubhouse built in 73 days
The dining page states plainly that the North Course clubhouse restaurant opens for special events only, while the South Course restaurant trades daily from 6am to 3pm. Read together with the events pages, that makes the North clubhouse a dedicated private-event building, and the South clubhouse the working restaurant. Donald Wexler drew it with Richard Harrison, Boris Gertzen built it in 73 days for $1.5 million, with a porte cochere shading the south entrance and a bow-shaped plan of double-height glass. Walt Disney donated the copper lily-pad fountain with its hundred-foot jets that sits between the ninth and eighteenth holes, a fact two independent publications and the resort itself all confirm.
Nine pages of this resort's website were read. Not one gives a capacity figure, a square footage, a named room or a published rate. Every route ends at the tournament and event sales manager. The city tourism listing prices the events package, the wedding package and even the South Course restaurant menu identically: call for price. One aggregator returns a blank on minimum spend and another profile sits unclaimed. A single marketplace holds every dollar figure that exists: a $1,531 reception fee, a $500 ceremony fee, and bar service from $6 a head. The precision of the $1,531 suggests a figure entered from a real quote rather than a list price, and nothing corroborates it.
This resort belongs to the Agua Caliente Band, the Cahuilla nation whose reservation it stands on, and they run it themselves. That has two consequences a couple should raise directly. First, tax treatment on trust land may differ from the city rate, and no source addresses it, so nothing should be assumed. Second, the licensing authority for alcohol is not necessarily the state agency a Palm Springs hotel answers to. No document names the licence holder. Ask what authority signs off an event here, and who is licensed to pour, before budgeting either line.
Thirty-six holes and two clubhouses mean simultaneous events are structurally possible and play continues around a wedding. No exclusivity is published. The resort does publish its 2026 course maintenance calendar, which matters for a September weekend: the back nine only on 8 September, a full closure across 9 and 10 September, then a $60 all-day rate from the 11th to the 17th. The golf shop and the South restaurant stay open throughout. Four listings give the guest ceiling as 300, 300, 300 and 220, and the outlier sits on a profile that returns no response across most of its fields.
For a couple who wants a documented desert-modern building and does not need a printed price to start a conversation, this is the strongest architecture in the Palm Springs cluster and it comes with a named sales contact. Anyone who needs published capacity, a room block on site, or any contract mechanic in advance should look elsewhere first. This property discloses less than any other venue in the directory.
